Power systems: Widespread voltage control problems and protective system problems can occur, some grid systems may experience complete collapse or blackouts. Transformers may experience damage.
Spacecraft operations: May experience extensive surface charging, problems with orientation, uplink/downlink and tracking satellites.
Other systems: Pipeline currents can reach hundreds of amps, HF (high frequency) radio propagation may be impossible in many areas for one to two days, satellite navigation may be degraded for days, low-frequency radio navigation can be out for hours, and aurora has been seen as low as Florida and southern Texas (typically 40° geomagnetic lat.).

gostava que me tirassem um duvida, li numa noticia que esta ultima emissão pode provocar auroras que podem ser vistas até Washington dc que é a uma latitude bem mais baixa que a nossa. Nos mapas vê-se sempre uma especie de onda que nos estates vai sempre mais a sul que por estes lados

Para ter auroras é necessário várias combinações de fenómenos solares e atmosférico que são muito raras (para não declaração impossível) à Portugal.
É necessário ir no norte da Europa
obrigado,
é que li que tinha havido algumas vezes no passado, pensei que uma explosão desta magnitude pude-se criar condições favoraveis

On Sept.10th, however, there was a "ground level event" (GLE). Neutron monitors in the Arctic and Antarctic detected a surge of particles reaching all the way down to Earth's surface. These data, for instance, from the Bartol Research Institute's South Pole Neutron Monitor clearly show the GLE:

Sunday's X-flare hampered Hurricane Irma response communications by Ham radio operators.

"As if Earth’s weather was not bad enough already, an X-class solar flare severely disrupted HF communication on Sunday at around 1600 UTC. Graves said the widespread communication blackout lasted for nearly 3 hours, “which could not have happened at a worse time,” he added. “But, we cannot control Mother Nature, only work around her.”

The Hurricane Watch Net remains operational on 14.325 MHz during the day and on 7.268 MHz after dark."
