PEla primeira vez ve as Noctilucent clouds. EM Ingles (esta tarde)...
I have seen the spectacular northern lights over here on the night of april 6/7 2000. That was a phenomenon without comparison. There is nothing, not even a solar eclipse, that comes close.
In Holland even this far in juli, the nights are never dark. On june 20 th the night is blueish all night and you can follow the sun on the horizon, where it remains really light.
Now, I was reading the weerwoord forum and at 23.45 h someone wrote: noctilucent clouds? They are here several times each summer and can be seen from end of may till 20 july moreless..
SO I took my Panasonic FZ-50, which I especially bought for the coming Northern Lights in 2010 or so.
I felt overwhelmed (well, a bit) when I went into the country on my bike 9car broke down while paying a visit to KNMI station Westdorpe, which is special in Holland) today. But biking is oke, only a 2-3 km drive outside the city,
And there, very bright on the horizon (unfortunately with normal clouds just below it) I saw the neon blueish clouds, which are at 80 km height. I could see patterns and took a lot of pictures, not all that good. elsewhere in Holland, there where or more clouds or less clouds. Some pictures I have seen where phenomenal! It seems to be one of the best shows for some time, altough a week or two ago early in the morning there has been a spectacular display.

The clouds on the left covered 60-70% of what I saw...but happy everstill!!
