Bem pela Madeira nunca mais consegui ver a iss... entao este verao com o "capacete" de nuvens* que se intalou faz já alguns meses está bem difícil...

International Space Station hit by meteorite

Two NASA astronauts are expected to spend seven hours in space assisted by a Russian cosmonaut aboard the station.
The space walk will start at 11pm GMT, and the astronauts will fix the batteries if they find any damage.
The need to check the energy supply is made more urgent by the upcoming arrival of two modules - the European Coulbus and the Japanese Kibo.

Paper Airplane Launched From Space Will Hit Mach 7

We knew that the Japanese wouldn't bother with boring old sensible experiments on the International Space Station. But commissioning a paper plane and launching it from space? Damn!

The 3.1 inch plane is in testing right now, and has been designed by the Japan Origami Airplane Association. According to Pink Tentacle, it is shaped like the space shuttle and will be able to stand up to the huge wind-buffeting of re-entry at Mach 7, or around 5300 mph. The temperatures of re-entering the atmosphere shouldn't cause any trouble, though, as even these speeds are a lot lower than that of a Space Shuttle re-entry: Mach 20.

Why? Who cares? We can't wait to see this on YouTube.

The ISS is now so big and bright you can resolve it with hand-held camera and telephoto lens. I didn't even need to look for support for my elbows. These images were taken with Nikon D300 and Sigma 100-300/4 APO, ISO 500, exp. time 1/800s.

A não perder hoje a passagem da Estação Espacial Internacional, com uma magnitude de -3,1 quase a rivalizar com Vénus.

Para Lisboa visível entre as 19h38 (W) e as 19h43 (S)

Para outras localidades introduzir o nome de aldeia, freguesia, cidade, ex.: Lisboa e depois clicar em ISS, aparece a hora de início de passagem, a hora em que estará mais alta no céu e o fim da observação.
