A former Islamic State militant recently spoke with NBC news about his experience fighting with the group in Syria — and why he surrendered after just three days on the frontlines.

The man, a 24-year-old single father and college dropout who traveled from New York back to his native Turkey, told NBC what has become a familiar story. Socially isolated and lacking meaning in his life, he was seduced by the jihadis' promise of a salary, a house, and a wife.

"My life was hard and nobody liked me," the man, who insisted on anonymity, said while crying. "I didn't have many friends. I was on the internet a lot and playing games."

Do artigo:

But Turkey's assaults on the PKK have so far been far heavier than its strikes against Islamic State, fuelling suspicions that its real agenda is keeping Kurdish political and territorial ambitions in check, something the government denies.

It has made clear that its operations against Islamic State in Syria will not include air cover for Syrian Kurdish fighters also battling the jihadists.

Guerra ao terror... :rolleyes:

Entrevista a Rui Machete:

The survey by Forsa for Stern magazine found 69 percent of Germans oppose Turkey joining the EU, up from 52 percent who were against it in a 2005 survey. The number in favor of Turkey joining the EU fell to 26 percent from 43 percent in 2005, according to the poll released on Tuesday.

Germany has always had doubts about allowing a largely Muslim country of 76 million people into the European club, fearing that cultural differences and its size will make it too difficult to integrate.

Turquia promove terrorismo no país vizinho;

Turquia é um ponto de passagem para terroristas. Com fronteiras abertas para toda a Europa, o EI, ou outro qualquer grupo terrorista, tem o caminho aberto para o resto da Europa;

Turquia tem um governante proto-fascista, incluindo perseguição à imprensa (se calhar já percebo a tua afinidade);

Turquia está a radicalizar-se:

Just one week before upcoming parliamentary elections in Turkey, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and officials in his Justice and Development Party (AK Party) found a unique way to try and secure a victory at the polls by calling for the "liberation" of Jerusalem.

"Conquest is Mecca, conquest is Saladin, it's to hoist the Islamic flag over Jerusalem again; conquest is the heritage of Mehmed II and conquest means forcing Turkey back on its feet," said Erdoğan in a speech on Saturday in Istanbul before millions who appeared to celebrate 562 years since the Turks captured Constantinople from European Christians.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is no stranger to controversial, even outlandish, comments made on a regular basis, sometimes aimed at Israel, often aimed at the West in general.

In his latest installment, Erdogan accused the Western world of hating Muslims but loving their money, and of wanting to see people of the Muslim faith dead.

“They look like friends, but they want us dead, they like seeing our children die. How long will we stand that fact?” he said on Friday during an address to the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) in Istanbul.

“Only we can solve our problems. I speak openly; foreigners love oil, gold, diamonds and the cheap labor force of the Islamic world. They like the conflicts, fights and quarrels of the Middle East. Believe me, they don’t like us,” he was quoted by the Turkish daily Hurriyet as saying.

– ‘Women not equal to men’ –

November 24, 2014: Erdogan causes an outcry by saying women and men are not equal.

“Our religion (Islam) has defined a position for women (in society): motherhood. Some people can understand this, while others can’t. You cannot explain this to feminists because they don’t accept the concept of motherhood.”

Yeşilbahar is among hundreds of schools in Turkey caught up in an education overhaul that, critics claim, is an attempt to roll back the country’s 90-year-old secular project. The government says it is responding to demand, but parents and teachers from half a dozen affected schools around Istanbul say that the conversions are being pushed through in spite of communities’ wishes, and that pupils are being shuttled from distant parts of the city to fill classes at the new religious schools. Ever since they won power in 2002, the Islamist-rooted Justice and Development Party (AKP) and its charismatic leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have been accused by their secular opponents of trying to turn Turkey into Iran.

“Don’t even think that the struggle that began 1,400 years ago between the truth [Islam] and fallacy [other beliefs] is over. Don’t even think that those who set an eye on these lands 1,000 years ago have given up their ambitions. Don’t even think that those who turned up at the Dardanelles, and then across Anatolia 100 years ago, coming with the most powerful armies, weapons and technology of the time, have repented. No, they never did so. This long-standing struggle is going on and will go on,” he added.

Bastante? Escreve lá as semelhanças. Eu quero saber :D

Alguma curiosidades acerca deste evento.

After the United States selected its targets for atomic bombing in late April 1945, it banned conventional attacks on those cities -- in part so it would be easier to measure the destruction from the atomic bomb. So as neighboring cities were destroyed, Kokura pulled through the summer of 1945 almost intact.

Desenvolveram o primeiro caça militar a jato:
