Funnel Frenzy
Nope, that's not a tornado or waterspout. What you're looking at is a cloud of insects. It's not clear what kind of bug made up this swarm, but they may be red locusts, Earth Science Picture of the Day reported. Ana Filipa Scarpa took this photograph using a 200 millimeter lens from the Leziria Grande at Vila Franca de Xira in Portugal.
